New Pastor Starts at Albion’s First United Methodist Church

Albion’s First United Methodist Church just recently welcomed a new pastor, Rachel Labram. Get to know her background, as well as the First United Methodist Church’s upcoming events and connection to the community.

Rachel Labram, pastor of Concord First United Methodist Church since 2021, has assumed the pastoral duties at Albion’s First United Methodist Church in a dual appointment. She replaces Reverend Joel Fitzgerald, who served as pastor for Albion’s church the last four years. As a Licensed Local Pastor, she is completing her seminary work at Methodist Theological School in Ohio.

Rachel helped lead Marshall First United Methodist Church during the pandemic and has served as pastor at Quincy’s First United Methodist Church. She grew up in Tekonsha and so has a great familiarity with the area. She is married and has two school age children.

Albion’s First United Methodist Church holds its weekly service Sunday at 11:30am at the Wesley Chapel of the Church building which is at 600 E. Michigan Avenue. Additionally, a Zoom Bible Study is held weekly on Tuesdays at 8AM. The First United Methodist Church was an important sponsor of Albion’s Community Table Food Distribution during the pandemic years, is a sponsor of Healthy Baby Day and more recently has hosted There’s Enough, a free store, which just moved to the Vision of Life building on Austin Avenue.

Rachel has started several new initiatives at the Church including an evening for Albion College Students to enjoy a family style meal and fellowship called The Gathering which will take place monthly beginning Sunday, September 21st at 6:30pm at Tennant Hall.
