Alpha Xi Delta’s Color Run Brings Fun, Fitness, and Philanthropy to Albion

Looking for a colorful way to spend your evening? Albion College’s Alpha Xi Delta sorority is inviting the whole community to lace up their sneakers and splash into a burst of fun at their annual Color Run!

Alpha Xi Delta (AXiD) is one of Albion College’s active Greek organizations, known for its strong sisterhood, academic diversity, and passion for service. With roughly 30 women from all majors and backgrounds, the sorority brings creativity and dedication to every project they take on. They partner with the Kindly Hearts Initiative, a cause close to their hearts that supports foster and homeless children.

Participants can choose between a 2-mile run (or walk) for adults or a 1-mile option for kids, making the event fun for the whole family. Along the way, runners will be doused in vibrant color powder, ensuring everyone crosses the finish line looking like a walking rainbow.

The Color Run isn’t just about the fun; it’s about impact. All proceeds go directly toward supporting the Kindly Hearts Initiative. By running, walking, or even strolling with friends, participants will be helping foster and homeless children gain access to resources, stability, and support.

This year’s event also highlights the creativity of Serena Arnold, Alpha Xi Delta’s ambitious philanthropy chair and an Albion College senior. Serena recently visited Harrington Elementary School, where she asked students to draw “what love looks like” to them. Inspired by the heartfelt artwork of two students, she designed a special Color Run t-shirt, now available for purchase. The shirt not only celebrates community spirit but also shares the children’s vision of love, making it a meaningful keepsake from the event.

It’s also a perfect opportunity to connect with the Albion community, make memories, and get in a little movement while covered in cheerful, paint-like hues.

Bring your family and get ready to be covered in color! Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, your participation will directly support children in foster care and experiencing homelessness.
