The Chief Noonday Chapter of the North Country Trail Association is bringing its annual Calhoun County meeting right here to Albion!
On Wednesday, October 8th at 7:00 PM, local hikers and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to Stirling Books & Brew in downtown Albion for an evening of community, conversation, and connection.
This yearly visit is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow trail lovers, learn about local hiking efforts, and support a downtown business that’s been hosting the event since 2019. Whether you’re an experienced hiker or just curious about getting started, everyone is welcome to attend.
This year’s featured speaker, Lucy Hough, Calhoun County Parks Director, will share updates on efforts to improve and expand trail access throughout the county—including work being done with Chief Noonday to help more residents experience the North Country Trail firsthand. A brief business meeting will follow the presentation.

To make an evening of it, several Chief Noonday members plan to gather for dinner beforehand at Malleable Brewing Company (420 S. Superior St.) around 5:30 PM—and they’re happy to welcome anyone who’d like to join.
If you haven’t yet explored Ménwabek Meadow Park, one of Calhoun County’s newest parks just south of Albion, this fall is the perfect time to take a stroll through its scenic trails and enjoy the changing colors. Parking for the meeting is available both behind Stirling Books & Brew and along Superior Street.
