County Transit Authority to Host Albion Update on Unified Transport Plan

Calhoun County residents can attend a TACC community meeting on October 14 in Albion to discuss future public transportation developments, including updates on services and plans following the 2024 transit millage approval.

Residents will have a chance to learn about the future of public transportation in Calhoun County next week as the Transportation Authority of Calhoun County (TACC) hosts a community meeting in Albion on Tuesday, October 14.

The session, part of TACC’s ongoing effort to build a unified countywide transit system, will take place from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Library at Marshall Opportunity High School, 225 E. Watson St. in Albion. The event is free and open to the public, with residents from across the county invited to attend.

Following voter approval of the 2024 countywide transit millage, TACC has been working to streamline and expand services, improve infrastructure, and create a more accessible system that connects communities throughout Calhoun County.

“These events are a chance to open the doors on what’s been happening behind the scenes since the millage passed,” said Mallory R. Avis, executive director of TACC. “We’re eager to share the progress we’ve made, outline the next steps for expanding and improving transit services, and hear directly from community members as we plan the road ahead together.”

The Albion meeting will include updates on new services, upcoming improvements, and opportunities for attendees to ask questions and share ideas to help shape the county’s transportation future. More information about TACC and its services is available at ridecalhoun.org.
