As Albion switches on its Holiday Lights for the season, downtown will come alive with the sights, sounds, and flavors of the holidays during Holiday Alley, taking place Thursday, November 13, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The festive walkway—located between Anna’s House of Flowers and the Secretary of State—will feature treats, music, and local holiday spirit for all ages. Visitors can stroll through the decorated alley while enjoying good things to eat, a “walking story,” and a Gingerbread House, complete with hot dogs served by Albion’s own “Hot Dog Man.”

A variety of local businesses and organizations will join in the celebration:

  • Anna’s House of Flowers will be open for holiday browsing.
  • Yellow Bird Chocolate Shop will host an Open House with chocolate stocking stuffers and preorders for their popular truffle collection.
  • Sister City Committee will offer a mural identification activity, with prizes from France.
  • Salem Church’s Gingerbread House will invite guests to enjoy a gingerbread man and purchase take-home kits, complete with recipes for frosting and decorations.
  • Jolly Green Junction will feature fresh produce and festive seasonal items.
  • The Albion Arts Commission will gives a sneak preview of the upcoming Holiday Arts Market.

Meanwhile, Flat Top will be serving up free popcorn beside a cozy fire, perfect for warming cold hands, and the Albion District Library staff will present a “Walking Story” through the alley. Keep an eye out for a dancing elf or two, adding some extra sparkle to the celebration.

Organizers say the evening offers a joyful way to launch the holiday season while supporting local shops and artists. “Holiday Alley really captures Albion’s community spirit,” said one participant. “It’s a fun, festive way to kick off the holidays together.”

Residents and visitors alike are invited to bundle up, bring the family, and enjoy an evening of cheer as Albion lights up the night.
